ghost station
Closed subway stop
A ghost station is a rail station that is closed to passengers but still exists as part of the infrastructure, with trains passing through without stopping.
These stations were often shut down due to low ridership, wartime measures, or route changes, and some remain eerily preserved underground.
The term also applies to stations that were built but never opened.
The Berlin U-Bahn has several ghost stations from the Cold War era.
