genitor

One who begets

A genitor is a biological father—the male who contributed genetic material to produce offspring.

The term is primarily used in anthropology and law to distinguish the biological parent from the social father (who raises the child), since these roles don't always coincide: The genitor was unknown, but her stepfather raised her as his own.
