Gay-bashing is verbal or physical attack on someone perceived to be gay or lesbian.
The term covers everything from slurs and harassment to violent assault motivated by hostility toward homosexuality: The attack was investigated as a gay-bashing incident.
Someone who engages in such behavior is a gay-basher.
