gaming convention
Hobbyist expo event
A gaming convention is a large organized gathering where enthusiasts of video games, tabletop games, or role-playing games come together.
These events typically feature game demonstrations, tournaments, cosplay, panels with developers, and opportunities to try unreleased titles.
Major gaming conventions like E3, PAX, and Gen Con draw tens of thousands of attendees annually: I'm flying to Seattle for the gaming convention next month.
