game trail
Wildlife passage through
A game trail is a path worn through wilderness by the repeated passage of wild animals moving between feeding areas, water sources, and shelter.
These trails, sometimes called game paths, often follow the most efficient routes through terrain and have been used by hunters throughout history to locate and track prey.
Hikers sometimes follow game trails when no human-made paths exist, though they can be narrow, overgrown, or lead to dead ends.
