front brake
Handlebar-controlled decelerator
The front brake is the brake controlling the front wheel or wheels of a vehicle, especially a bicycle or motorcycle.
On most vehicles, front brakes provide the majority of stopping power because weight shifts forward during deceleration: Squeeze the front brake gradually to avoid flipping over the handlebars.
Cyclists learn to use both brakes together, with the front doing most of the work.
