four-way switch
Three-location light controller
A four-way switch controls a light or outlet from three or more locations, working in conjunction with two three-way switches.
Found in hallways, staircases, and large rooms, it has four terminals and toggles the circuit path without an on/off position of its own: We installed a four-way switch so we could control the hall light from either end and the middle.
