foretasting
Previewing future flavors
Foretasting is experiencing something in advance—a preview or anticipation of what's to come.
The word suggests savoring beforehand: She spent the afternoon foretasting the pleasures of her upcoming vacation.
It can also mean tasting food before serving it to others, as a servant might for a king to detect poison.
