flashguns
Portable light sources
Flashguns are portable lighting devices used in photography, producing a brief, intense burst of light to illuminate a subject.
The term typically refers to units that attach to a camera's hot shoe or connect via cable, as opposed to built-in flash.
Professional photographers often use multiple flashguns for controlled studio-style lighting: She set up two flashguns to eliminate shadows.
