first-world problem

Affluent society grievance

A first-world problem is a complaint or frustration that only arises from privilege—trivial inconveniences that presuppose wealth and comfort.

The term is usually self-deprecating or gently mocking: My phone died and I couldn't find a charger—total first-world problem.

It acknowledges that the grievance would seem absurd to someone facing genuine hardship.
