field tech
Mobile service worker
A field tech is a technician who works on-site rather than in a shop or office.
Field techs install, maintain, and repair equipment at customer locations—cable boxes, HVAC systems, medical devices, industrial machinery.
The job typically involves a service vehicle, a territory, and a schedule of house calls or site visits: The field tech should arrive between noon and four.
