Fat biking is cycling on a bicycle with oversized, wide tires—typically 3.8 inches or wider—designed for soft, unstable terrain like snow, sand, or mud.
The low tire pressure and broad contact area provide flotation and traction where standard bikes would sink: Fat biking has become popular at ski resorts in winter.
