farmworker rights
Field laborer entitlements
Farmworker rights are legal protections and fair treatment standards for agricultural laborers.
Historically excluded from many labor laws covering other workers, farmworkers have organized for decades to secure basic guarantees: minimum wage, safe working conditions, rest breaks, protection from pesticide exposure, and the right to organize.
The farmworker rights movement gained national attention during the grape boycotts of the 1960s.
