fansites
Unofficial tribute websites
Fansites are websites created by enthusiasts dedicated to a celebrity, band, TV show, video game, or other media property.
Unlike official sites run by rights holders, fansites are labors of love—hosting news, images, forums, and fan-created content: I found rare concert footage on a fansite.
They flourished in the early web era before social media centralized fan communities.
