A fanny pack is a small zippered pouch worn on a belt around the waist, typically positioned at the front or side despite the name.
Popular in the 1980s and '90s for tourists and hikers, fanny packs fell out of fashion before returning as casual accessories: She kept her phone and keys in a fanny pack.
In British English, where "fanny" refers to female genitalia rather than the buttocks, the term is often replaced by "bum bag."
