eye chart
Optometrist's wall poster
An eye chart is a poster displaying letters or symbols in rows of decreasing size, used to test visual acuity.
The most familiar type is the Snellen chart, with its large E at the top, found in optometrists' offices and school nurse stations.
During an eye exam, you read the smallest line you can see clearly, which determines your prescription or whether you need corrective lenses.
I could barely make out the bottom row of the eye chart.
