final exams
End-of-term tests
Final exams are tests given at the end of an academic term, typically covering an entire semester's or year's worth of material.
They usually carry significant weight in determining course grades.
The period is often called finals: I can't go out—I have finals next week.
Students study for finals, take finals, and occasionally fail finals.
