electron guns
CRT beam sources
An electron gun is a device that produces and directs a focused beam of electrons.
Found in older cathode ray tube televisions and computer monitors, electron guns fire electrons at a phosphorescent screen to create images.
They also appear in electron microscopes, particle accelerators, and welding equipment.
The gun typically heats a cathode to release electrons, then uses electric or magnetic fields to accelerate and focus the beam.
