ecodesign
Sustainable product development
Ecodesign is the practice of designing products, buildings, or systems with environmental impact in mind from the start.
Rather than addressing sustainability as an afterthought, ecodesign considers the entire lifecycle—materials, manufacturing, use, and disposal: The company's ecodesign principles eliminated toxic adhesives from their furniture line.
Also called ecological design or sustainable design.
