echolocators

Sound-based location finders

Echolocators are animals that navigate and hunt by emitting sounds and interpreting the returning echoes—most famously bats and dolphins.

The term also applies to devices or systems that use the same principle: sonar, certain radar applications.

Some blind humans have learned echolocation, clicking their tongues to map their surroundings.
