Drop acid is slang for taking LSD, the hallucinogenic drug.
The "drop" refers to placing the substance on the tongue, often as liquid drops or an absorbent tab: We dropped acid at the concert and watched the lights melt.
The phrase emerged from 1960s counterculture and remains the standard casual term for ingesting LSD.
