draft resister
Conscription refusal person
A draft resister is someone who refuses to comply with military conscription.
Unlike a draft dodger, who evades the draft through avoidance or deception, a draft resister typically refuses openly as an act of conscience or political protest: Draft resisters burned their cards on the steps of the induction center.
The term is most associated with opposition to the Vietnam War.
