double yellow
No passing zone
Double yellow refers to the parallel yellow lines painted on a road to indicate no passing or no parking zones.
In traffic contexts, crossing or parking on double yellows is typically prohibited: I got a ticket for parking on a double yellow.
The specific rules vary by country—in the US, double yellows mark no-passing zones; in the UK, they indicate no parking at any time.
