World Cup trophy
Football's golden award
The World Cup trophy is the gold prize awarded to the winning nation in FIFA's international football tournament, held every four years.
The current design, officially the FIFA World Cup Trophy, depicts two human figures holding up the Earth.
Teams keep the trophy only until the next tournament; permanent possession ended after Brazil won the original Jules Rimet Trophy outright in 1970.
They lifted the World Cup trophy for the third time.
