double-quick

At breakneck speed

Double-quick means very fast, at a pace faster than usual.

Originally military terminology for a rapid marching pace between quick time and a run: The troops advanced at double-quick.

Now used more broadly for any hurried action: We need to finish this double-quick.

As an adverb, it modifies verbs directly: Get over here double-quick.
