doomsdayer

End-times forecaster

A doomsdayer is someone who predicts catastrophe or believes disaster is imminent.

The term carries a dismissive edge—implying the person's warnings are exaggerated or unfounded: Climate doomsdayers have been wrong before, but that doesn't mean we should ignore the science.
