dimension hopping
Crossing parallel universes
Dimension hopping is traveling between parallel universes or alternate realities, a staple of science fiction and fantasy.
Characters dimension hop to reach worlds where history unfolded differently or physical laws vary.
The term implies casual or repeated crossing rather than a one-time journey: She's been dimension hopping all season, trying to find her way home.
Also called dimension jumping.
