dimed

Ratted someone out

Dimed is the past tense of dime, a verb with two main uses.

To dime someone out is to inform on them, from the dime once needed for a payphone call to the police: He dimed out his partner to avoid charges.

In automotive slang, to dime a gauge or throttle is to push it to the maximum—all the way to ten: I had it dimed and still couldn't catch him.
