dialer
Phone call initiator
A dialer is a device or software that places telephone calls.
The term appears most often in telemarketing contexts, where an auto-dialer or predictive dialer automatically calls numbers from a list: The call center's dialer connected agents to leads.
On older phones, the dialer was the rotary mechanism or keypad used to input numbers.
