diagonal moves
Corner-to-corner traversals
Diagonal moves are movements across a grid or board at an angle rather than along horizontal or vertical lines.
The term appears most often in chess and checkers, where bishops move diagonally and pawns capture diagonally: The bishop's diagonal moves controlled the center.
In video games, diagonal moves often require pressing two directional inputs simultaneously.
