detorsion
Undoing a rotation
Detorsion is the untwisting of a body part that has become abnormally rotated.
In medicine, it typically refers to correcting testicular torsion or ovarian torsion—conditions where organs twist on their blood supply.
In zoology, detorsion describes the evolutionary untwisting of certain gastropod mollusks whose ancestors underwent torsion.
