desalinisation
Making seawater drinkable
Desalinisation is the process of removing salt from seawater to make it drinkable or suitable for irrigation.
Also spelled desalinization, and often shortened to desalination.
Desalinisation plants operate in arid coastal regions where fresh water is scarce: The city depends on desalinisation for its water supply.
