deracialize

Strip racial categories

To deracialize is to remove racial categories, considerations, or implications from something—a policy, institution, discussion, or way of thinking.

The term appears in academic and political contexts where racial frameworks are being deliberately set aside or dismantled: efforts to deracialize the criminal justice system, The candidate tried to deracialize his campaign message.

Critics sometimes use it to describe erasing race from discussions where it remains relevant.
