depthless
Lacking any profundity
Depthless means without depth.
Used literally, it describes surfaces so shallow they seem to have no dimension: the depthless water of a tidal flat.
More often figurative, suggesting emptiness or superficiality: depthless eyes, a depthless conversation.
Paradoxically, it sometimes means immeasurably deep—so profound that depth cannot be fathomed: the depthless mysteries of the universe.
