denazifying

Removing Nazi influence

Denazifying is the process of removing Nazi ideology, influence, or personnel from a society, institution, or government.

The term originated with Allied efforts in Germany after World War II to purge Nazi Party members from positions of power and dismantle fascist structures.

More recently, Russia has used "denazification" as justification for its invasion of Ukraine, a usage widely viewed as propaganda given Ukraine's democratically elected Jewish president.
