Breaking the connection
Delinking is the act of removing or severing a connection between things previously linked.
In digital contexts, it often means removing a hyperlink or disconnecting accounts: I'm delinking my bank account from that app.
More broadly, it describes separating things that were tied together: delinking executive pay from stock performance, delinking the currency from the dollar.
