Interior-exposing diagram style
A cut-away is a coat or jacket with the front edges cut diagonally away from the waist, tapering to tails at the back—the formal morning coat worn at weddings and state occasions.
In film and television, a cutaway is a brief shot that interrupts the main action to show something else: a reaction, a detail, a clock on the wall.
The technique provides context or covers edits.
In technical illustration, a cutaway view shows an object with part of its exterior removed to reveal internal structure.
