crowfeet

Facial laugh lines

Crowfeet is a less common spelling of crow's feet, the fine wrinkles that fan out from the outer corners of the eyes, so called because they resemble a bird's footprint.

The term also has nautical and military applications: crowfeet can refer to a system of small cords radiating from a single point to distribute tension evenly, or to a spiked device scattered on the ground to puncture tires or slow pursuing cavalry.
