sushi burritos
Japanese-Mexican mashup
A sushi burrito is a large cylindrical roll combining sushi ingredients—rice, raw fish, vegetables, seaweed—in a format resembling a burrito.
Unlike traditional sushi cut into bite-sized pieces, it's wrapped in nori and meant to be eaten handheld.
The fusion emerged from California food trucks in the 2010s: I grabbed a sushi burrito for lunch.
