extravehicular
Beyond the hull
Extravehicular means outside a vehicle, specifically outside a spacecraft in the vacuum of space.
The term appears almost exclusively in the phrase extravehicular activity (EVA)—what's commonly called a spacewalk.
An astronaut performing repairs on the exterior of a space station is engaged in extravehicular activity.
