cowriting

Composing text together

Cowriting is the act of writing something together with another person or people.

The term appears most often in creative contexts—cowriting a song, a screenplay, or a novel—where collaborators share authorship: She's cowriting a memoir with the retired senator.

The hyphenated form co-writing is equally common.
