countercampaign
Opposing political push
A countercampaign is a campaign organized in opposition to another campaign—typically in politics, advertising, or public relations.
Where one side mounts an effort to promote a candidate or message, the opposing side launches a countercampaign to undermine it: Environmental groups mounted a countercampaign against the industry's lobbying effort.
