cosmo

Cranberry vodka drink

Cosmo is an informal clipping of cosmopolitan, usually referring to the cocktail—a pink drink of vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice, and lime: She ordered a cosmo at the bar.

Less commonly, it shortens cosmopolitan in its sense of worldly or sophisticated.

Cosmo also appears as a given name and as shorthand for Cosmopolitan magazine.
