Tight linear braids
Cornrows are a hairstyle in which the hair is braided flat against the scalp in narrow, raised rows, typically running from front to back.

Creating cornrows requires sectioning hair and weaving it tightly in continuous, attached braids: She sat for hours getting her cornrows done.
The name comes from the rows' resemblance to planted corn.
