cookie notice

Tracking permission request

A cookie notice is a pop-up or banner on a website informing visitors that the site uses cookies—small files that track browsing activity.

These notices became ubiquitous after privacy regulations, particularly in the European Union, required websites to obtain user consent before storing cookies.

Most users click through them without reading: I just dismiss every cookie notice without looking at it.
