configurators
Option selection systems
Configurators are tools or systems that let users customize a product by selecting from available options.
Car manufacturers offer online configurators where buyers choose colors, engines, and features: I spent an hour on the configurator building my dream truck.
Software configurators help set up applications or systems.
A person who configures things may also be called a configurator, though the tool sense dominates.
