cone collar
Animal healing collar
A cone collar is a protective device placed around an animal's neck to prevent it from licking, biting, or scratching wounds or surgical sites.
The rigid, cone-shaped plastic extends outward from the neck, blocking the animal's mouth from reaching its body.
Also called an Elizabethan collar or E-collar, after the ruffled collars of that era: The vet sent the dog home in a cone collar after the surgery.
