conduplicatio

Conduplicatio is a rhetorical device in which a word or phrase from the end of one clause or sentence is repeated at the beginning of the next: Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate.

The repetition creates emphasis and links ideas in a chain.

The technique appears in oratory, poetry, and persuasive writing to build momentum or hammer a point home.
