A concrete pad is a flat slab of concrete poured to serve as a foundation or surface for something placed on it.
Pads support air conditioning units, hot tubs, sheds, generators, or outdoor equipment—anything that needs a level, stable base: We poured a concrete pad for the new AC unit.
Smaller and simpler than a full foundation, a pad is typically a few inches thick and sized to the equipment it supports.
