concert performance
Staged musical event
A concert performance is a presentation of a musical or theatrical work—typically an opera, musical, or ballet—without staging, costumes, or sets.
The performers stand or sit before the audience, often with scores in hand, letting the music speak for itself: The opera was given in concert performance at Carnegie Hall.
The term distinguishes such presentations from fully staged productions.
